Description

RMS Adriatic was a British ocean liner of the White Star Line and the fourth member of the famous “Big Four” class. Entering service in 1907, she was the largest, fastest, and most luxurious of her sister ships, featuring innovations such as an indoor swimming pool and Victorian-style Turkish baths. Initially operating between Southampton and New York, she later served on the Liverpool–New York route, offering comfortable transatlantic travel at moderate fares. During World War I, Adriatic continued civilian service before being requisitioned as a troop transport in 1917. After the war, she underwent several refits and increasingly focused on cruising. Following the merger of the Cunard Line and White Star Line in 1934, Adriatic was considered surplus to requirements, withdrawn from service, and scrapped in 1935.
